Zoran Lucić – Bringing Joy from Bosnia

Zoran Lucić is a graphic designer from Bosnia and Herzegovina who created a stunning series of soccer posters titled “Sucker For Soccer“. Each illustration oozes with personality as it captures great players from the past to the present. Together, they form a magnificent visual history of the stars that have played the beautiful game. With wildly varied artistic styles, the collection reinforces different eras and styles that have influenced the game of football (soccer in America) throughout the years. Below are a few of my favorites:

While his soccer posters are brilliant, Lucić is no one hit wonder. I’m almost more in love with his “To Be or Not to Bop” series which portrays legendary Jazz musicians such as Thelonious Monk and Miles Davis. Coming across wonderful illustrations from half-way around the world reminds me of the powerful connections that are fostered through the Internet. Every day there is a great writer, artist, or photographer exhibiting their work hoping it will bring joy to many and gain recognition for themselves. So let me offer my thanks to Zoran: your posters have certainly brought me joy.
